Computer Addict Dies

It sounds too much like a joke but sometimes I worry about my own health also.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is in theaters today and I heard some very disappointing things online from fan sites. But recently, I've been reading good reviews for the movie and I thought that maybe I judged too quickly. Plus today, front page of The Chicago Tribune, the paper advertised that the movie received 3 stars.

Wha?!?! This doesn't sound bad at all now. But upon closer inspection, the review was given by Robert K. Elder; the critic I most despise at the Tribune staff. Oh, how I loathe him so. He gave Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy 3 stars but you have to remember that he gave Eurotrip 3 and a half stars!
Finally, a teen sex comedy that's funnier than both its trailer and its outtakes.

Not how I would have described the movie as I left the theater feeling betrayed, destroyed, and filled with images of elderly male nudity.

So I guess I still am not looking forward to good things which is a shame, really. Ah well, I still have the radio series on my computer...and television series...and book series...all I really need is digital towel.

With the new Star Wars movie coming out and with Anakin Skywalker becoming Darth Vader, you can understand if Anakin is a little bit stressed lately. Luckily, he has his own blog

Even from the grave, Johnny Cash can kick the ass of any modern band.

Spicy Clamato, the improv group I am in, went on a road trip last weekend to Oberlin College in Ohio. If you don't know, Oberlin College is the most liberal college in the country. It's the modern day Berkeley. There, we were part of an improv fest/workshops. There is nothing greater than watching improv groups play until 4 in the morning.

I've have many things to write soon. The time is drawing near to completion. I need to hurry. It's like...a brick milkshake...under Thanksgiving.

I realized that my sleep schedule has destroyed my sense of time. For instance, yesterday felt like a Friday that felt like a wednesday. Yeah, confusing.

Also, I feel like an old man because I don't like a lot of new music. All the new bands sound the same and it sucks. I've been "accumulating" music from thr heyday of the 90s. Dammit.

ME (a few years from now)
"Argh. You damn kids with your "Rock" music, your complicated shoes and your bump bump (does a hand motion where the right arm is in front of the body and bent at the elbow across the chest, perpendicular to the body. The forearm then rises until parallel with the body, back down to perpendicular and then repeats (IT"S THE FUCKING MOTION OF A HOPPING CAR!!!))"

Ah yes...memories

Well, I've been out of it recently after doing a research paper in less than 36 hours. Fun. Believe me. I'll write a story about it. Anyway, I'll give you something worthless right now.

Worthless link

Some things in life are too hard to write down for others to read and try to understand. Those things also happen to be most difficult for the thinker to admit to himself.

I'm back to the position I was over a year ago (well, not same situation but the same feeling). I'm speeding head first into a wall and the outcome will change everything. But who can say what is good and what is bad?

|
Once in ancient China there was a wise farmer whose horse ran away. His neighbor came over to tell him he felt sorry for him, only to be told in return: "Who can say what is good and what is bad?".

The next day the horse returned, bringing with it eleven wild horses it had met during its adventurous escape. The neighbor came over again, this time to congratulate the farmer on his good fortune. Only to be told once again "Who can say what is good and what is bad?".

The next day the farmer's son tried to tame one of the wild horses and fell off, breaking his leg. His neighbor came back again one more time to express how bad he felt. But for the third time all the farmer had to say was: "Who can say what is good and what is bad?".

And once again the farmer was correct, for this time, the king of that land had started a war and the following day soldiers came by to draft young men into the army, but because of his injury the son was not taken. The farmer said "Who can say what is good and what is bad?"

This is the kind of story that neither brings a smile or frown to my face. It just is.

Strange Ramblings heard in the Eye of the Storm
By: Pancho Chazaro

The Pope has died and everyone is taking it hard, even people who haven't been to church in ages. People who are not even Catholic are mourning. People who are not even religious are mourning. And yet few know why they mourn. Those people mourn because "The pope has died."

This was a Pope who traveled more than any other Pope. He also happened to live in a time where large distance travel was possible. A time when long distance media flourished. Hell, I would be more surprised if he never traveled.

And why did he travel? To preach of course. To spread the word of God. To denounce those who did wrong...but who listened? Who cared? Only those who agreed with the Pope listened. When the Pope spoke against Communist Russia and it's satellites, the Russian government didn't care. Did the citizens of these countries do anything? Very little at that. Eventually, the country fell apart from economic reasons. His preaching didn't cause their economy to plummet.

And when he spoke against Bush and the war on Iraq? Did Bush listen? No. And it was Bush who gave America his eulogy. Calling him a great hero and all that, but neglecting the fact that the Pope despised Bush and found everything that Bush did wrong. But that's not in the news.

People are mourning because he was the Pope. Because he was Polish. Because he was the only Pope they knew. People are mourning because he spoke out (even though no one listened.) They are mourning because he was well respected. But he was only respected because he was the Pope.

And the next Pope will be respected also. If he’s Italian, he won’t be respected as much from the Polish community. They liked the last Pope cause he was Polish too. He’ll travel the world too. He has to; it’s expected now. He’ll have to talk about wrong things in the world that no one who disagrees will listen too. He has to do the job of the Pope. Lead those who already believe in him.

And try and dream about changing the world.
